About the Saltwatercure Fund

Giving back is a collection fundraising projects created by women touched by breast cancer that provide a little financial relief for women currently in treatment for breast cancer here in Nova Scotia.

About the Creator

Nicole Close is a self-proclaimed mermaid and founder of the Saltwatercure Fund. She was touched by breast cancer at the age of 43 (DCIS, HER2+, ER+). Originally from Vancouver, B.C. she now lives on the east coast of Canada in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Her connection to the ocean and love of surfing were integral to her treatment and healing. It continues to remind her to be more present in her daily life and to let go of what she can not control and to play.
