Winter Solstice: Ch-ch-Changes!

Change is the only constant. Something we think of as the background of our stories; something that sets the tone for our experience; that we react to. For some reason 2015 felt different.

Chatting with a friend over coffee, a call from a family member, something overheard in a line-up, a story caught on social media. It seemed like people everywhere really pulled change from the background of their tales, into centre stage this year. From something they reacted to, to something they consciously created. Life changes, career changes, social changes. Everywhere I looked there was someone taking action to make their life better. Did you feel it to?

Of course for us the biggest change was opening the shop. One of our greatest dreams! In the process we got to meet you – our customers, neighbours, and new friends. People that inspire us every second!

Yule (or Winter Solstice) is a time of self-reflection, gestation, and the rebirth. It’s also a time of celebration with friends and family. While you enjoy your time this holiday, remember to allow yourself these quiet moments for centring and reflection on the changes you took action on this year.

Did you change jobs? Did your family grow? Did you start that creative project? Or maybe you broke away from something in your life that no longer served you well.

No matter what holiday you celebrate this season, make part of it a time to honor the courage & ability you showed during all the change you made happen in 2015. Mountain or mole hill, take credit for that courage and ability! Carry it with you into 2016.

More magickal things to come!
